Posted by fanatic moderation at 1: Subscribe to: Posts Atom. I really enjoy The Kitchen. I like the barefoot contessa reruns bc I find them relaxing. I do not watch anything else. Most of the recipes are redundant or terrible.

The new shows are so awful, humorless, and without soul. I love watching these two Fat Ladies. They love their meat. The World's Worst Cooks competition is soul crushing. I enjoyed the Great Food Truck Race check this out. R5 it was Sean Donnellan and although The food network sucks show had a public access feel, it was great fun to watch.

I miss the old Food Network. And to think I used to bitch about Sandra Lee. R3 and R14 are right. Click you want instructional video, go to PBS, especially on weekend mornings. It's that you fuckers have absolutely nothing to replace Fieri with, so three entire days The food network sucks him.

Guy just stuffs his face full of crap and never says anything tastes The food network sucks. The competition shows were half the reason I quit cable.

I came in my sister (huuu)

I wish Ina would move to Create TV. Read article used to watch during weekends in the morning, while doing cardio. But, no more. They have that rancher woman for the despicable and then Bertinelli, who can teach nothing and knows nothing about cooking. And, then, when they are not showing people running around like here The food network sucks trying The food network sucks make something out of an eel, rhubarb, and cornflakes, they The food network sucks children doing the The food network sucks thing.

Who teh fuvk wants to watch children cooking except for frau mommies, of course? They've turned into a "lifestyle" channel as opposed to a cooking channel. I'm so sick of these "cooks" rambling on and on about their families, memories, upcoming events they're hosting, etc They don't even write their own recipes, they have click here of ghost writers who come up The food network sucks all this shit.

Anyone recall the infamous Kwanzaa Cake? The Kitchen is unwatchable, in the same way The Chew is - the hosts are so over the top manic, it's ridiculous. They all act like they're coked up out of their minds, laughing like lunatics, making ridiculous "o-faces" over every thing they're tasting, yelling, hooting and hollering over every little thing.

It's so forced and phony. The recipes are so stupid too - the other day on The Kitchen, one of their "recipes" was salami chips. They literally just sliced up some salami and baked it in the oven. That same episode another recipe was chocolate dipped potato chips. I miss the days when they had chefs do cooking shows on both channels. Most of the cooking shows are celebrities now. The Kitchen just makes me The food network sucks although I click to admit I did get a few good recipes from them.

It's a mixed bag there. So stop watching any of it! Too many people turn the TV on for lack of anything else to do, then sit there and watch programming they're not happy with because they can't find anything better. And the network thinks they must The food network sucks it. If the Food The food network sucks were to see an overall decline in their ratings and maybe they are, I don't knowthey would program something worthwhile.

Don't watch something that's a "mixed bag" - boycott it. Look at Animal Planet. The bloodier and gorier the better for ratings. Used to be a great mix of fluff and education for adults and kids. Not anymore. R11 is right, I love cooking shows and watch most of it on YouTube, that's where you go if you want the real deal.

Pat her husband is a sweetheart though. The food network sucks they divorced she got hall of his restaurant holdings. Cuntrag that she is I watch stuff on YouTube now. Plus I download recipes from Pinterest. R43, yeah, but her suggestion that Deen was saying the "n" word a lot as were her sons is pretty The food network sucks. Sorely missed, too, is that cute Canadian chef named Chuck Hughes who prepared a The food network sucks spread for his neighbor restauranteurs, food purveyers, staff, etc.

I think the reason Food Network doesn't have any new programming is because they are blowing their budget on salaries for the talent they have Ina, Guy, Alton, Giada, etc. There is no more bacon in the larder for new talent. Because it's about the art of cooking, and, like all art forms and disciplines, once they gain substantial popularity To shit. R28 Yes she does. It's called Barefoot Contessa; Cook like a Pro. I've caught it a few times on the Sunday mornings when I wasn't hangover.

Speaking of, I still remember reading an interview with Alton Brown bitching about how one chef should not be the face of an entire food network, Emeril, and how having him on several times a week wasn't fair to others. Just finished watching Pioneer woman. WYD, opening credits The food network sucks her healthy weight, show starts and she comes from behind fridge and she looks like Francine Fishpaw. What a mess she is. All of these networks have gone to shit.

They should rename the history channel, The food network sucks Hitler channel. That's all they show. One of the last great speaciels the history channel had was the men who built America. And that was back in I want to see more shows The food network sucks that. The food network is tha same way now. I miss all of the various cooking shows they ones had.

But just like a few people have The food network sucks. If you want quality programing. Cable has gotten lazy. Even though moronic and mediocre, Fieri pulls in the numbers.

Chopped is still good, Source prefer Create with Lydia and Ina much more. And it's spawned a slew of imitators. All basic cable networks are crap right now because they lost tens of millions of subscribers in the cable cutting era. It's a race to the bottom; everyone is targeting the lowest common denominator. Rachel, regardless The food network sucks her being the top earner amongst all the american chefs Without any restaurants sucks.

I like the way Valerie Bertinelli throws in references to Mrs. Van Halen, "Ed," and brings on Wolfgang who could stand to lose about pounds; I The food network sucks, with parents like that, he should be an enormous handsome stud. She also had Betty White on once, as expected. You can tell her new husband's The food network sucks are still a bit starstruck when they're on, as well.

And she can cook! And she did a reunion show with all of the Cleveland gals. I really like her show a lot-- more info got such an upbeat personality and her food does look good. R4, they already have had "Ow, My Balls! It was called America's Funniest Home Videos. Come to think—linear cable-television lineups are trending on the outs while streaming what when one wants is rising. Ina was marginalized for a good while on FN.

The only time you'd see Barefoot was on Sunday mornings at some Godforsaken hour. I complained on her FB page and her assistant said they were aware and there were new programming decisions made that concerned them. Two Fat Ladies coming in second for their chemistry and humour. Continue reading is what happened to LOGO.

It was supposed to be the first GAY channel. There was a variety of different shows from comedy to drama. Now its morphed into the DRAG channel. Who the hell is watching RuPaul The food network sucks 2,? I blame it on the Lesbians, they seem to be the only ones I know that seem to love the show. I think it's some internalized hate thing about men degrading themselves by acting like woman.

Get ready for more changes geared towards deplorable audience. Nope, sorry, nice idea but just not true. The network executives made a decision several years ago to split the channel into Food Network and the Cooking Channel. The food network sucks in doing so they basically wrote off all the followers who wanted to learn to cook and went for the big dollars with game show ratings.

Hotel voyeur Watch Video Thot redbone. And the result? We watched. And then we watched some more. Bomb-dot-com tasty. Lights-out delicious. Festival of Funk. Apparently, the guy really loves funk. Opening a restaurant in Times Square? Youtube videos and recipe gifs are better. I agree that 30 minutes of "learning to cook" isn't the most effective for learning, but they were more enjoyable to watch than the current programming at least for me. Honestly I really enjoy a lot of youtube shows for that, like Food Wishes and some of Matty Matheson's stuff. Also food related, I really enjoy Binging with Babish. I'd watch that. Netflix has some great food programs, just sayin I got rid of cable years ago and it was one of the best desicions I ever made. I have PsVue mostly for sports. There are some Netflix food shows I like. I've heard good things about Avec Eric but I haven't sat down to watch it yet. And I'll occasionally watch British Bakeoff if my girlfriend is watching it. There are some good youtube shows, albeit pretty short episodes. Shows like: What happened is people quit watching, so they had to change up their style just like any other channel. Reading through this thread's responses and voting, I'm deeply saddened to learn that Guy Fieri and his show are popular. You didn't touch on the Guy Fieri plague infesting the network for the last several years. He's like the Larry the Cable Guy of food. I too miss Good Eats, Emeril even if he's an ass in person , Barefoot Contessa, and the show I always forget the name of that was hosted by a good looking Italian lady whose last name was Laurentius or something like that. Upvoted because I feel your pain man. We must be about the same age because those shows and school years you listed match up exactly with me. None of my friends ever got why I liked the Food Network, but sometimes it's nice to have a relaxing, quiet cooking show on. Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything we can do about it. I suggest to look for a cooking channel on YouTube you enjoy, there are a ton of them and most are annoying as fuck but there are some good ones. Gordon Ramsey randomly posts cooking videos, Binging with Babish, there's this Korean lady that I'd name but I'm on my phone and don't remember it. Yeah youtube has some good stuff! I love Ramsay's older videos the newer ones he has posted have this weird pacing, but the most recent ones have gotten better. Binging with Babish is awesome, I just wish they were longer and came out more frequently! No Reservations and Bizarre Foods were really good. I have travel channel now and Zimmerman has this new shows "Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations" and the show is just a cop-out. Rural Mississippi? Las Vegas? Property Brothers are just helping people do small renovations to sell a house and then buy a new one. However, I don't think they realize that they are just making the problem worse - they're creating cheaper and lower cost shows but I would have to think their ratings are declining more than average real-time TV viewership decline. But, they are now part of larger publicly traded companies and look to the short term gains - and to also possibly offset losses in their other divisions e. Eventually someone will do something better on another network and they'll all be naval-gazing as to what went wrong. Apologies for going off-topic, but HGTV is missing out on a huge demographic shift: How about more programming geared toward apartment dwellers? As I begin spring cleaning and redecorating on a limited budget I am reminded of a weekly Canadian series in which a young designer would redo an apartment by utilizing furnishings and accessories borrowed from other rooms for reuse in different areas within the apartment. Does anyone remember the name of that show? I loved it and I am using some tips learned there to "refresh" my small apartment. You'll see changes in the programming soon. R, she hosted "Worst Cooks in America" which had its finale a couple of weeks ago. In fact, her contestant won. I was talking about her cooking show, where, you know, she actually produces something delicious to eat. R, well, she actually produced dishes on Worst Cooks that the contestants were to replicate. She also demonstrated things like cutting techniques, so in effect, it was a lot of what people claim they want to see on FN. Evan Farmer former MTV boy-bander and hard core stoner was the host of the show r is talking about. Although, at the time I was quite suspicious of all the items that he "discovered" in the apartment dweller's storage unit. I don't think HGTV realistically recovered from the mortgage crisis as they're still floundering with flipping shows. Meanwhile they have a David Bromstadt show where he decorates the houses of supposed lottery winners. Though in a lot of cases the "dream" homes just end up being bigger houses in the same area or vacation homes in nearby areas. And the new rich people often tend to be a deplorable couple living in the middle of nowhere I guess those are the type of people who tend to play the lottery looking for a bigger house in the middle of nowhere where they will have more space to showcase their awful taste. On one episode I watched, David was showing the couple a huge new house, and the frau said, "This would be a perfect place for my Precious Moments collection! He just travels to Bumfuck to show them houses. David must wonder why his life has taken such a turn for the worse. Only Demaris from what I see. I like her show - though she seems reined in. Are you talking about "Baked in Vermont," with Sandy Bullock's sister? I adore that show. I hope it gets renewed. R, I agree, it is one of the best original shows FN has had in quite a while, but its success is completely dependent on Sandra's sister. R, FN will forever chase the dragon because of Fieri. Ironically, they've found some very nice chefs for shows because of NFNS but they clearly didn't know what to do with them and putting them in loser shows for one season will simply not develop an audience, a show or a personality. I think Mauro's Sandwich King is a great idea for a show but they had more faith in him than they did in the concept so he's now on The Kitchen. They did "The Kitchen" outside and the hosts are freezing. You can see the vapors from their mouths and when they did a bbq segment, the smoke overpowered them. Yes, in this one she shows you how to arrange a vegetable platter to go with the cheese platter she showed you how to arrange last time. Make sure you get good quality hummus. When I go shopping, Jeffrey calls out, "Make sure and get a good hummer" and I laugh. Geoffrey is decorating a store bought cake and he's obviously miserable. He has to make it look like a garden. Lidia Bastiachi was also on being as charming as can be. No word on her slaves. Fieri has three shows and 26 hours of programming across Friday and Saturday. It's nuts. What does he have on the executives? FN's unwatchable these days and many others. Guy's GG is usually in the Top 10 as well. There was a BI about a boy-molesting pedo who seems to be on a certain network every time you turn it on. Pretty obvious. Pretty funny, too, considering the story about him freaking out when discovering the owners of a diner were two gay lovers. I've seen hundreds of episodes over the years and cannot recall a single one where the owners were identified as a gay couple. R I saw the episode in question and the cook mentions his husband who was the manager but in the voice over intro Guy calls them "life partners". It was in the first or second season. R I've seen episodes where the owners appear to be two gay men but I've never seen them even called life partners. I believe the producer who said he's openly homophobic. It goes right along with the rest of his douchey presentation. Dave Lieberman had a show for two seasons about ten years ago. And he was a terrible cook. You girls have to get over him. I like the concept of DDD It's interesting to see how restaurants cook food on large scale, how they incorporate ingredients, regional dish preparation, etc. I've only watched a few times. The loud, obnoxious douchebro presentation, the unsanitary touching and pawing of food even as the cooks are wearing plastic gloves, and finally slobbering all over the place as he shoves the food into his maw all turn my stomach and make the show unwatchable. R You've left out Pioneer woman. Her show has the best daytime ratings for FN and Trisha's show only rates well because of the lead-in from PW. Someone upthread mentioned the Pioneer Woman making chocolate dipped potato chips. I posted this on the Martha Stewart thread; it's just as appropriate here. The Pioneer Woman is making ramen "pho" using the seasoning that came with the ramen brick and tossing veggies and thinly sliced beef in a bowl. Add soy, sirracha, and lime. This is a cooking show! This is the sort of a thing that high school and college students have been figuring out preparing for themselves since ramen and tea kettles became widely available. Ree's appeal to Frauen is easy enough to understand but not her food. She seems to zap every dish with an overdose of chile peppers and various hot sauces. Ladd squeals like a girl when Ree tricks him with a fake, rubber snake. That tells me he's not doing much hands-on ranching in Oklahoma. You'd see snakes, including venomous ones, on a regular if not daily basis. Of course he's not doing much hands-on ranching. Their ranch is so big that the family are the 23rd largest private landowners in the US. For a ranch that size, most of the work is being done by the help. I would guess the only time Ladd does actual ranch work is for the show. Like most all cable channels the FN is catering to the majority of their viewer's tastes, or selling what most people will pay for, if you will. I haven't watched the FN in years. And I live for the day some scandal comes out about that dirty fat spikey haired pig who is their current cash cow that will sink his TV career. And you know there's something there that could do it. It's just a matter of time. The Pioneer Woman brand dishes sold at Walmart are hilarious. Next, Guy Goes E: Watch as Guy takes you into the Restaurant Restrooms of America! Howser's LA was a welcoming place, not frightening at all. He'd venture to the Watts Towers, eat tortillas in East LA and examine the graffiti in Venice and it was all an adventure. When he'd do a show like an elderly African American couple in Pasadena who made cobbler or a store that sold vintage sodas in a bottle, it could make their business. Huell visits Pinks Hot dogs. It's leisurely pace might be boring to today's viewers but I found it relaxing and entertaining. Remember the TMZ video of the slap fight between Guy and his hairdresser? I recall hearing of Guy being uncomfortable when he found out the owners of one of the restaurants he was featuring were a gay couple. By no means am I a Guy fan, but it's seems he's evolved a bit on that issue With special correspondent Tommy DiDario to analyze the the pants the men are wearing on their way to the toilet. Guy Fieri is the 1st and most successful winner of Food Network Star. R, slight correction, Guy was the second winner. The Hearty Boys, a gay couple, were the first winners. I knew the Food Network assumed most of their viewers were morons after Paula Deen was revealed to be a racist pig they suddenly started have black guests on her show constantly. She'd never once had a black person on her show before then. I could just hear Paul in programming meetings telling the producers "y'all need to bring in some coloreds to show the viewers I'm not a racist because I let them come into my house and don't even make 'em clean". R, I hate to admit knowing this, but Paula had black guests on often. She even had RuPaul on in full drag. Paula Deen at least did recipes that were easy for non-cooks like me and she didn't insist on products that were ridiculously expensive for most people. It's Sunday, so there's another 10 hours of Fieri programming today. Fourteen on Wednesday, 13 on Saturday and Sunday. Viewers are clamoring for him so FN delivers 50 hours almost all of which are reruns. I watch the Create channel especially since I cut the cable cord and they do have some good shows. But that annoying Italian guy isn't one of them. We Italians love clams! Clams are a way of life in Italy! That bitch that lives in Napa or wherever is a total snot. Her 'students' get taught how to chop onions every week. And Kimballs Milk Street show is overrun with vocal fryers. Very cunty vocal fryers at that. Before then, she frequently had black guests on her shows throughout the years. She was also responsible for the Neelys getting their own show as FN didn't think their demo would warm to them. In addition, she was a major donor to a Savannah orphanage whose residents are primarily black children. As Matt Lauer pointed out, her big mistake was being too honest and admitting to using that word, decades ago, when there were no witnesses. R, if you saw the clip above, Gina Neely admitted that Paula had said that sort of stuff often and had told the network that they should undergo some diversity training. Then that makes Gina a phony cunt. They were on Paula's show several times before getting their own show. If they thought Deen was racially insensitive they should have declined her assistance with the network. I don't think you'd have to watch The Neelys more than once to see Gina is a phony cunt. Anne Burell is not a nice cook. I saw her scream at photo guy on food network telling him he was using up her work space…her back sided comments on guy fieri grocery games againsy Marcell.. Here's an entry from 06 --there's no shortage of vitriol for the food network..

Once they The food network sucks all that money coming in they decided to fuck the other channel up too. Even Alton Brown who was at the top got his show canceled. I remember his being thankful he parlayed his success into one of their cooking game shows but it was not worth watching.

Bottom line, it came down to greed from network executives. They would make Honey BoBo a star if they thought it would bring in higher ratings. Before they went downhill, they were doing some creative stuff like Bitchen Kitchen. It only lasted 3 seasons. I guess the Fraus watching The food network sucks channel didnt get the humor or the fact that the host was actually a comedian who invented this character.

I'd love to know if there The food network sucks a way to find out how many times an episode has aired. I'm willing to bet that they've shown some episodes of "Barefoot Contessa" or "Pioneer Woman" well over times.

Not implausible. Gertler is cute as hell - in that slightly nerdy Jewish otter sort of way, The food network sucks, well into his 30's and apparently single.

I know at one point he started a sausage company that ended up getting a Costco deal. He also had a movie watching show on some 3rd tier channel. Not sure after that. I still remember his season on NFNS. The final The food network sucks went to Vegas where they made a buffet for employees at the Wynn.

For the first time, Adam went back to his smokehouse roots and made a BBQ that everyone went crazy over. Ironically, the situation was a set-up because it was obvious they wanted this web page pair Aaron with the Neelys for an hour of African American based cooking programming.

Poor Lisa Garza didn't exploit her Latina culture. Competitors are given three possibilities ahead of time, which allows the show to stock their pantries accordingly.

XXX Femdom Watch Video Menstual Sex. Well I think ratings kind of dictated it. They still have cooking shows in the middle of the day but the evening shows are mostly the competitive ones. DVR the cooking shows and watch at night? That's exactly it. Everyday Italian, Good Eats, things like that, as well as shows where they go into the kitchen of places to see how things are made. I agree. Very simple and they make what they want to make in the main round. I still love Chopped but it's nice sometimes that they can use ingredients they want and not have to throw in sour gummy bears to a spaghetti or something. It shows how good Flay is too, rarely gets beat outside of Asian dishes. Bobby and the cohosts are always having fun with it too, so much spiteful stuff on tv now, but this is something that is genuinely a good humored competition. Totally agree, I'm really over any reality show with negativity being the main feature of the drama. I saw him lose once at tacos in the earlier seasons which was a surprise. It's just fun to watch good cooks make something they love with no restriction aside from time. I'm glad they have new episodes every week. I feel ya on this but I'll still watch the shows. I do wish that the educational shows, like Ina and Giada's shows, were on in the evenings more than the reality, though. I try and catch them on Saturday and Sunday mornings while I wake up. And I absolutely love Chopped, so when it's on, I don't mind having that on in the background. DDD gets old. Where is everyone else? Why does he have several TV shows. Why does he still dress like that? And the Kitchen is absolute trash and shitty and I hate it. The instructional cooking shows come on in the morning, with Saturday and Sunday having the most. Networks air what people watch. For a ranch that size, most of the work is being done by the help. I would guess the only time Ladd does actual ranch work is for the show. Rubbing her fat ass and tits all over her down low husband, and making suggestive comments. The former Mrs. Neely is starring on another current Reality Show: I hated that Neely bitch. They way she treated her husband like a retarded child every time he did anything. Made me want to puke. After declaring bankruptcy in , did Geoffrey Zakarian agree to sell his soul to Food Network? I can't believe he's doing humiliating shit like "Cooks vs Cons" and "The Kitchen," especially the latter No term gets more overused incorrectly on DL than vocal fry. Katie Lee speaks in a high voice. In which bass trombone on an undiscovered planet are you living, R, where you actually think Katie Lee speaks in a high voice and does not use vocal fry? What ever kind of voice Katie Lee has it is as annoying as hell. How on earth did she get a job that requires speaking??? Who did she have to be with to get hired? BTW, whatever happened to Jeff's sandwich show? I used to like it. Did Sonny ever have her own show? She's okay but way too loud. I think her cooking is okay and she's honest and will admit when the prep for her dishes was done by the workers in the back and not by her. I hate that all those like the Pioneer Woman and Valerie pretend they did all the fine chopping and prep work and even more insulting is when they pretend that they will be cleaning it up. That was one thing I liked about Rachel Rays old 30 minute show. They showed her do every bit of prep work and actual cooking and she made no pretense that it was being done in a studio, no pretending this was her home and company is coming and the sound of fake doorbells and such and what a coincidence, that guest and family all arrive "home" at the same time and 1 minute before the food is ready. Even the shows that actually do teach cooking a bit have to have this phony shit going on. If I make a recipe that supposedly can be made in a specific amount of time I don't want to see that the host already has the onions, carrots, celery, garlic, and herbs finely chopped and the pasta already cooked. That is all the hard part. Just dumping everything into a pot or pan is nothing. The old shows used to teach knife skills when you'd see the host actually doing the chopping and mincing. Martha Stewart is a class example of vocal fry voice. I hate those broads who do that croaking frog voice. They think it makes them sound more important. It just makes them sound like dudes. Katie Lee does have a semi vocal fry voice. Certain words are very vocal fry, while others are valley girl. I have never seen a cooking show where anyone from the star to a lowly stage hand comes up to the set and do "cleaning. Why do expect the "stars" to do all of their clean up on camera? We all hate clean up and you seem to think they should use their precious time to show you hygienic activities? Perhaps it would be to your satisfaction to include a Chryon: R, Rachel Ray did on her show "30 minute meals" or whatever it was called. People on DL use vocal fry to describe a whiny valley girl voice a or any other female voice they find annoying. Katie has a light sing-songy way of speaking on The Kitchen but it's far from vocal fry. Martha is a better example. Rachel's 30 minute meals could probably really be done in that amount of time but it's not correct that they showed her do everything. The 30 minutes included commercial breaks so she'd start chopping onions, for example, take a commercial break and come back and they were done. Which is fine. I don't need to see someone chop 3 cups of vegetables. I miss the cooking shows. The Kitchen is my favorite of the ones left. I liked Damaris but I haven't seen her in a while. Trisha is OK if she's not singing; Trisha's singing is like Sandra Lee's tablescapes--except Lee's decorating was funny. Oh yeah, Tarek el Moussa's ex is grade A vocal fry. He was clueless about what his breakout show was actually featuring. Like, literally, not a clue. Fieri, however, was not. But no, not Guy. Inside the Food Network. According to Salkin, Stewart reached out to Garten — before she'd hit it big with Barefoot Contessa — to produce Garten's cooking show. A crew was dispatched to the Hamptons and a pilot was filmed. Stewart, however, was not pleased with the results. Among the reasons? That Garten's Fiestaware plates were too similar to those she used. The book also alleges that Stewart was "unhappy that another woman was going to be the star of a show produced by her company," and reports that she even went so far as to destroy all evidence of the pilot. I want the tapes of this whole series destroyed. Think the celeb chefs featured on your favorite cooking shows are doing all the work themselves? Think again. For any given episode, there are between 15 and 20 chefs behind the scenes, all working to ensure the on-air hosts can do their jobs well. There are five kitchens at the Food Network studios. It's in these kitchens that all the ingredients are prepped, "swap outs" dishes completed at varying points in the recipe are made, and every detail of every show is organized. Is there anyone cooler than Guy Fieri rhetorical question due to the fact that it does not require an answer based on the expected unanimity in favor of him actually being cooler than everyone else? His style, phrases ex. Always talking with his mouthful. There is nobody better. Just the sound of her voice brings a smile to my face. I think I may have even called her Mom a few times. Opening a restaurant in Times Square? Good luck, Guy. Even the reviews from the public were awful. Unfortunately, some associate him with a certain group of people. His brash personality is not amusing. But luckily, we found the perfect place. And then there are the shows that just aren't great in my opinion. While I love Alton Brown, Cutthroat Kitchen is just so gimmicky, and isn't very interesting after a few watches. Same thing for Cooks vs Cons. There are a few other shows that are regulars that I don't really have opinions on. Pioneer Woman is also a little bland for me. There is one program that I absolutely hate and that's The Kitchen. It's like a poor, morning TV show with terrible personalities, uninteresting recipes, and barely any real cooking. I don't understand how people can like that one. Sorry for the rant, I just miss the old Food Network! I was looking at some of the programming on the Cooking Channel, but it also has a lot of long blocks of programming. What do people think of the present Food Network and the Cooking Channel? I think all the learning channels have devolved into brain dead reality shows. Probably because that market is now basically controlled by the internet. I finally figured out why I quit watching the channel the other day and you got in on the head. I want someone to show me how to make something every now and then. While the competition shows are still food related, I never learn how to make any of it. They would quickly go bankrupt doing that in a world where you can learn whatever you want in just a few clicks. I still love Chopped but it's nice sometimes that they can use ingredients they want and not have to throw in sour gummy bears to a spaghetti or something..

Weekly Rec Threads. What The food network sucks to the Food Network? Most of the programming consists of multi-hour blocks of a single show, and most of the shows are either reality-style or competitions. What are your feelings? Let me preface this by saying that I understand channel programming and styles change. I'm not a fan of the Food Network's current style and programming, but I'm sure there are people out there that love it.

Not all of it is bad, its just not my taste. Growing up, Food Network was my favorite channel The food network sucks TV. As a child, the programming felt very educational; I was learning about food and culinary products and it was all very fun!

After getting my first real job and moving into my first apartment with just my The food network sucks, I was really excited to get PSVue so I could once again have Food Network on in the background after I got home from work and cooked.

However, I was disappointed to see the new channel style. As I said in the title, the format is now multi-hour blocks of reality or competition television. I am most annoyed by Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I enjoy the show well enough, but it's just on so much and after seeing a bunch of the The food network sucks, it all just feels the same. You can thank the EU parliament for making everyone in the world click on these pointless things while changing absolutely nothing. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs. WTF is wrong with Food Network? He kills my appetite to do anything except hit the gym. If you wanna watch how-to cooking shows go to create tv on PBS. Remember "How to Boil Water" with the young, geeky, gen-Xer host in the early 90's? Whatever happened to him? This is indicative of why that orange dumbass is in the White House. I completely agree! I used to love watching it so much for cooking segments. Now it sucks! I watch many of the PBS shows. And remember Debbie Fields, baking cookies with those ridiculously long and perfect nails. I think I flicked by Trisha Yearwood making French toast. Gina Neely on Paula Deen. Food Network is all cooked out. Why can't Food Network produce original programming anymore? Ina has a new show? Part of the problem is they went with the face instead of talent. That's evident everywhere. Guy Fieri's face? That Ree woman's face? I've always felt that there was a fundamental flaw in food teevee. You cannot taste anything. Unless you are a recipeholic there is very little there there. It comes from chasing the ratings. I like the concept of Chopped but the best-the-clock time limits are annoying. Paula Deen is busy eating sticks of butter and being a cunt. Do you mean this guy? I miss David Rosengarten's show "Taste" one of the best of the best from back in the day. WHET Rosengarten? Inexplicably, the feed switched to several seconds of an adult film before the screen went blank, and although an engineer attempted to switch to to a backup feed, that tape also contained salacious material. The X-rated footage aired for a solid minute before returning to the regularly scheduled programming. We have a broad viewing audience that we really care about and we hate to think of the shock or embarrassment this may have caused any of our viewers. According to GrubStreet , a federal investigation into the matter laid the blame on the Food Network, not the cable provider, but it was never discovered who switched the feed. When you're in the comfort of your own kitchen you might sneak a taste of sauce using the spoon you're stirring with, or you might stick your possibly unwashed finger into the bowl of frosting. But when you're on television, that's not a good look, and a study by Texas Tech University proved just how unsanitary your favorite Food Network chefs can be. The study looked at 17 food safety and handling habits — some positive, some negative — from hand washing to cross contamination to proper use of a thermometer. In an analysis of 49 episodes of five different shows, only positive food safety measures were identified, compared to an overwhelming poor food handling incidents. Not exactly a squeaky clean performance. Fans of Martha Stewart will have trouble swallowing this one: It turns out the super successful businesswoman and DIY queen, who seemingly has it all, is a bit threatened by her competitors — or at least that's the way she's portrayed in Allen Salkin's tell-all book, From Scratch: Inside the Food Network. According to Salkin, Stewart reached out to Garten — before she'd hit it big with Barefoot Contessa — to produce Garten's cooking show. A crew was dispatched to the Hamptons and a pilot was filmed. Stewart, however, was not pleased with the results. Wasn't Valerie Bertinelli an actress at one time? Yes R53, she was on Hot in Cleveland. Ree has made those, too. Alton Brown - closeted? Today Alton is exactly what he complained about back in Meant WTF regarding post Lidia is, but I can't stand her. Look at the beginning of this clip. Valerie Bertinelli seemed to have Matt Lauer's number before everyone else. I liked Dave Lieberman. I bet he had a tasty ass. Whatever happened to Adam Gertler? Someone on here claimed to blow him. Why must everything be a competition? R73, Adam does hosting but also has a sausage company. He's affiliated with the Dog Haus. You can always find the best cooks on YouTube. Valerie is one of the best hosts on their network. I blame Susie Fogelson and Bob Tuschman. R51 seems to have it best. A few years from now, they may get rebranded. So, so good. Especially with the pineapple. Lemme look it up And Adam has a girlfriend. Asian, of course, so you know what that means to DL'ers. Alton Brown should be ashamed of "Cutthroat Kitchen". He should be ashamed period R I'm sure he's crying all the way to the bank. I'm a Chef and I hate Food Network,!! Was Duff gay? Something about him says party bottom. I like Duff. And he also has good rapport with kids. You mean when he's not spun and pulling a train? I'm racist no mo y'all, gimme a show! He says he's done with it all. Adam Gertler Dave Lieberman ended up going to medical school. I fing Ina to be very relaxing. What about Mary Ann Esposito? Oh, yeah, I forgot about Mary Ann Esposito. And Martha used chicken, r I love it when Jacques Pepin says "kooky shit" for cookie sheet. Justin does some Guy show, but that's not the same. I stick with PBS now. I feel the same way. Her mouth was otherwise occupied when she was married to me. Tell us more, r Justin works his ass off. And no, I'm not Justin. R, Sinclair Broadcasting will probably gaycleanse Ina's shows. Poor Michael, Miguel, and TR. TR's been gone for many years. They will gaycleanse the old episodes, too, r Or is it "straightcleanse"? We don't all rent. Work harder, if you don't come from money. I haven't seen Anne Burrell on FN in forever. Oh, well, I don't watch that shit at all. The baking show is peaceful. I forget her name. That is Trumptard bullshit right there. He doesn't decorate the houses, he actually helps the new rich people find "dream" homes. R, are you kidding? Does the name Guy Fieri ring a bell? Jeff Mauro is on "The Kitchen". I can't stand Guy Fieri. Why is he the King of the Network? At least Jeff got a new kitchen out of them before they cancelled his show. Jeff is looking cute since he lost weight and started going to the gym. Katie Lee, Ali Magraw called- she wants her look back. I had only one slave, bastardo! Jeff also looks like he has an intense skin care regiment and the new veneers don't hurt either. Jeff always had great skin. I can't watch Jeff Mauro because he reminds me of Ben Platt. They look nothing alike. Guy draws in the fraus and their husbands. R87, Tuschman was fired two years ago but Fogelson is still there. Fiery is boy-molesting pedo? And Ladd doesn't like spicy for some reason. Bottom cowboy? R, Don't forget! Besides Triple D, there's Triple G: Pinks has horrible hot dogs. Like a rubber dog toy. Huell was a treasure. So is Pink's- I wish I owned that spot. I completely agree. Huell was a southern boy but could you imagine Paula Deen or her sons doing this segment? One does not think of Guy fucking. It is simply not done. Hottie Tyler Florence marched in a pride parade yesterday in Tampa. Good for him! You mean like when Cowboy Josh bottoms for Ladd? It was reported last year that he earns over 10 million dollars a year. Why not just change the name to The Fieri Network? Why do people just make shit up like R? She never made any shows after being labeled a racist. If you don't like Deen that's fine but don't make up bullshit. A fairly disgusting display in the kitchen. Keep your sexual innuendo in the bedroom. Because there's nothing Italians love more than black people! And clams! Don't forget clams! Katie Lee's vocal cords were affected by gallons of Billy Joel's cum. Please stop being so ridiculous and start the Vacuumed Packed and Hypoallergenic Channel to fulfill your extended, unfathomable, and inscrutable needs Perhaps it would be to your satisfaction to include a Chryon: On "The Kitchen", Jeff especially tries to wipe up the counter when there's a mess. Martha Stewart has vocal fry? Now I have heard everything. Specifically Martha just has deep dyke voice. LOL at poster who likened her to Francine Fishpaw. I bet she voted for Trump. Check out this milkshake. It reminds me of bad French cooking where every dish contains an overdose of Dijon. Overstreet was probably already cut. Sorry, off topic. You mean after he was outed as a homophobic asshole by a former DDD producer. Let's hear some more examples of what he's done for gays. Thought so. Like this? FN should be concerned that so much content revolves around one person- like him or not. Nobody really knows who she is, which sort of makes my point. Her food sucks and her family sucks. With the bad comes the good or something like that. Food Network is what it is because of this group. Facts only. Is there anyone cooler than Guy Fieri rhetorical question due to the fact that it does not require an answer based on the expected unanimity in favor of him actually being cooler than everyone else? His style, phrases ex. Always talking with his mouthful. There is nobody better. Maybe because I sweat so much. View my complete profile. Mostly because they took something that was entertaining and enjoyable television and turned it into something that I have to believe insults the intelligence of most of its audience. I think back then Lydia already had her show and there was always Julia Child to watch along with Jacques Pepin. Where is everyone else? Why does he have several TV shows. Why does he still dress like that? And the Kitchen is absolute trash and shitty and I hate it. The instructional cooking shows come on in the morning, with Saturday and Sunday having the most. Networks air what people watch. Blame the viewers for not watching. PBS has better cooking shows anyway. Saturday mornings they air like 4 straight hours and no commercials. Travel Channel has some okay ones. I was a huge fan of No Reservations maybe 6 or so years ago, but I'm not sure if that's still on. Bourdain's Parts Unknown on Netflix is really good too! Travel Channel really got much better after Man vs. Food wasn't airing constantly. They still do what you're talking about where they'll air Bizaare Foods all day leading up to a new episode. Same with Mysteries at the Museum. But all the shows are pretty good. I totally agree. The old Food Network was great. A Triple D type show, showcasing chefs and recipes across America would be a refreshing change from competition food shows. I thinks it funny when someone either sabotages the other chefs and still gets eliminated or they sabotage so much they walk away with basically nothing when they do win. Just Google places from any episode. Very often they close because restaurants are hard and they can't handle the uptick in business. I've been to many and they all suck or are mediocre. I was so happy when the gusto channel came out because it looked like it was going to focus on home cooks, showing people how to cook, new ways of cooking and then within a month it was basically the same programming as the Food Network. Over Christmas, they were running cooking shows and one of them was from this famous female Australian chef and her twist on cooking, and a lot of them were Commonwealth recipes herbs, spices, breads, pork, etc , and as a Canadian I was really startled by what she made because aside from a few changes here and there due to what fruit or vegetables she could get, it was recipies you'd find anywhere in Canada. It was pretty neat: There's a local channel called Create that has a lot of the cooking shows on still it might be national even but I get it on my digital receiver for free. Youtube videos and recipe gifs are better. I agree that 30 minutes of "learning to cook" isn't the most effective for learning, but they were more enjoyable to watch than the current programming at least for me..

But it's blocked far too long on the channel. And then there are the shows that just aren't great in my opinion. While I love Alton Brown, Cutthroat The food network sucks is just so gimmicky, and isn't very interesting after a few watches. Same thing for Cooks vs Cons. There are a few other shows that are regulars that I don't really have opinions on.

Pioneer Woman is also a little bland for me. There is one program that I absolutely hate and that's The Kitchen.

It's like a The food network sucks, morning TV show with terrible personalities, uninteresting recipes, and barely any real cooking. I don't understand how people can like that one. Sorry for the rant, I just miss the old Food Network! I was looking at some of the programming on the Cooking Channel, but it also has a lot of long blocks of programming.

What do people think of the present Food Network and the Cooking Channel? I think all the learning channels have devolved into brain The food network sucks reality shows. Probably because that market is now The food network sucks controlled by the internet. I finally figured out why I quit watching the channel the other day and you got in on the head.

I want someone to show me how to The food network sucks something every now and then. While the competition shows are still food related, I never learn how to make any of it.

They would quickly go bankrupt doing that in a world The food network sucks you can learn whatever you want in just a few clicks. Well I think ratings kind of dictated it. They still have cooking shows in the middle of the day but the evening shows are mostly the competitive ones. DVR the cooking shows and watch bukkake fan site Rachel night? That's exactly it. Everyday Italian, Good Eats, things like that, as well as shows where they go into the kitchen of places to see how things are made.

I agree. Very simple and they make what they want to make in the main round. I still love Chopped but it's nice sometimes that they can use ingredients they want and not have to throw in sour gummy bears to a spaghetti or something. It shows how good Flay is too, rarely gets beat outside of Asian dishes. Bobby and the cohosts are always having fun with it too, so much spiteful stuff on tv now, but this is something that is The food network sucks a good humored competition.

Totally agree, I'm really over any reality show with negativity being the main feature of the drama. I saw him lose The food network sucks at tacos in the earlier seasons which was a surprise. It's just fun to watch good cooks make something they love with no restriction aside from time. I'm glad they have new episodes every week. I feel ya learn more here this but I'll still watch the shows.

Why does he have several The food network sucks shows. Why does he still dress like that? And the Kitchen is absolute trash and shitty and I hate it.

There are some Netflix food shows I like. Extreme see thru bikini.
